I teach kids how to headbang...
I volunteer and put on a Gymoreeish class every Wed. at my local library. We sing, exercise, have story time, crafts and snacks...all in an hour. After dancing and marching around in a circle. We do balls and bubbles, basically the kids and parents throw balls at each other or the kids run around clinging to the coveted beach balls, while I blow Gymboree bubbles which last forever in the air. It looks really magical and fun.
I play different types of music during this time and 2 weeks ago, I decided to have some more "alternative rock" (I hate that phrase)
Anywho, the kids really lit up with these two songs

Take me Out...Franz Ferdinandhttp://www.franzferdinand.co.u
This week, the kids were stomping their feet, swaying their hips and yes, banging their heads....which we all were getting a kick out of. They all looked so serious when they were doing it too. Since David and I spend a lot of time listening to music, he was swaying his arm like a pirate saying "It be allllll -RIGHT!" during Float on and was singing to anyone who was listening.
It was one of those beautiful moments, in a strange way it reminded me of Vienna, where at a couple of bars in the barmuda triangle, everyone sang to a good song. One used the tables more for dancing on if a good song came on....and this was also pure joy to see the kids dancing and singing to those two songs.
